Tucumcari, New Mexico

On my trip through New Mexico we hit the famous Route 66 at a place called Tucumcari, not far from the border with Texas. It's a small town and it's like stepping back into the 1950'/60's as most of the buildings in the main street look as if they're frozen in time in that era. Here is a taste of some of them, along with vintage cars and a genuine 1950's (or maybe earlier?) diner, where the food was very good!

Classic car, classic motel
Colourful accommodation at the motel
You are on Route 66!
This motel didn't fare so well....
Diner sign on the main street
Inside the diner - like stepping into a 1950's film set
Vintage garage and cars on main street
